Coiled Tubing

We are an industry leader and innovator when it comes to coiled tubing equipment.

Over the years we’ve enhanced our coiled tubing division to include the most technologically advanced equipment capable of servicing our clients’ deepest wells, which has allowed us to set multiple records, more efficiently and safer than ever before. Our coiled tubing equipment and data acquisition tools help producers increase reservoir performance in well completions and well intervention projects.

Our coiled tubing units are designed for 38.1 mm to 73.0 mm (1-1/2 in to 2-7/8 in) OD tubing with lengths that service the extended reach challenges of today’s horizontal wellbore. In the U.S., STEP’s 14 ft wide trailer is one of the largest capacity trailers in the deep reach coiled tubing market today. Injector specifications have been selected to meet the demands of 24-hour continuous operations, and downhole pressures our clients are encountering. STEP has the largest fleet of 15k pressure control equipment, including fluid pumping units and coiled tubing units. In Canada, we have the largest and deepest fleet of e-line, and the only deep electro-fiber string in the market.

More information on how we lead the industry in new innovations

To support our coiled tubing services, STEP’s team of laboratory professionals bring a wealth of experience in stimulation chemistry in fracturing, acidizing, and production enhancement. Our technical specialists work closely with our field professionals to engineer optimal fit-for-purpose solutions for fracturing and coiled tubing operations.

  • Conventional intervention operations include, but are not limited to: cleanouts, milling, cementing and TCP operations
  • Stimulation services: matrix acidizing, frac through coil, frac down annulus
  • Complex intervention operations: underbalanced drilling and milling, electro-fiber monitoring, real-time and conventional logging
