In 2024, STEP’s dual-fuel fleet – now representing 78% of our total horsepower – displaced approximately 44.1 million liters of our clients’ diesel. By reducing reliance on diesel during hydraulic fracturing operations, we help operators meet their performance and cost objectives without compromising reliability.
STEP is committed to continual capital investment in next-generation technologies. As part of our long-term strategy to reduce diesel consumption, our diesel reduction strategy includes the phased deployment of a natural gas-powered asset base - such as fracturing pumps and tractors - the electrification of backside assets, real-time performance monitoring of key metrics (including substitution rates, diesel displacement, and overall fuel efficiency during operations), and capital reinvestment in efficient next-generation equipment.
